advanced prostate cancer journey

In March 2014 I was diagnosed with stage IV Prostate cancer. I chose to go to a major medical facility for treatment after our local Oncologist offered a pessimistic view of my condition. His first words before he introduced himself were: There is no cure for prostate cancer, and you will die from this disease. I was given the standard Leuprolide injections and a daily tablet of Bicalutamide. In June a conference of the American Society of Clinical Oncology a new protocol was unveiled. I started the new protocol right away. It included chemotherapy. By the end of September 2014, my prostate cancer was in remission. It has remained in remission to date.
