"Hi, looking for feedback on turp versus green laser for an enlarged prostate and blocked urethra. I had a cystoscopy yesterday which showed almost complete blockage, and the urologist wants to do a turp, even though I have only brought up the greenlight in the past. I also asked him about how much tissue would be removed and he indicated tissue about the diameter of my thumb which surprised me and scared me a little. I am 63. What research I have done leads me to believe that greenlight surgery is preferable"
