Terri McBride
My name is Terri McBride, a retired machine designer of 44 years, who specialized in automated machinery design. I designed machinery for the primary metals, tire building, plastic processing, textile, carbon electrode, and several specialty industries. I also managed many machinery installation projects throughout the USA, Europe, and Asia.
During my annual physical when I was 67 years old, my PCP told me that my prostrate was a normal size with smooth features, but my PSA was going up faster than he thought it should be. He sent me to a Urologist on my 68th birthday (Happy Birthday) and the Urologist thought that it would be a good idea to do a whole-body bone scan, an MRI, and a biopsy if warranted. Two months after my birthday, I was diagnosed with Stage T2c prostate cancer. With my Gleason score of 3+4 and the genetic report determining a moderate risk, my Urologist felt that it was safe to do Active Surveillance, which I did for three years before having High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) ablation of 85% of the prostate. Five-plus years since diagnosis, I’m doing very well, and no indication of cancer.
