Is this normal

My dad had an operation on prostate, he was confirmed he has cancer, I guess he is at a level 8 whatever that means, and has been waiting weeks for the result if the pet scan. He is urinating chunks of flesh sometimes, it been about 8 weeks since he had the surgery. Today he realized he hadn’t been going very much and he seen a large piece so he was able to wiggle it out. Just wasn’t sure if this is normal and he doesn’t want to go under again if he can help it. I would call his doctor but I feel like they are frustrated if we call and ask questions so I thought I would do my own research.

  1. Any blood?
Im thinking there should be blood if chunks of flesh?
Im Assuming he had his prostate out.
    Have you searched the internet?
Could it be some other substance?
Ive had chunks of minerals? Come flying out of there over my lifetime.
Also when the uro put the camera up my bladder last year, there was ... stuff floating around there. He said it was due to my not urinating well enough.

    1. Hi thanks for reaching out. I am glad you are being proactive and doing your research, but I would definitely encourage you to reach out to the doctor. Your dad's doctor should not be frustrated with questions, concerns and looking for test results. And if he is, I would also encourage your dad to get a second opinion so that he gets the care that he deserves. We are here for you! Please keep us posted on how your dad is doing.
