Losing body functions
I have high riask Non - metastic Prostate Cancer with pi-rads 4/5 and gleason 7/9 scores . Considering IMRT Radiation with Space oar to protect rectum . What are my chances of having urinary and bowel problems if i go through with this treatment ? I am also taking Orgvoyx for hormone deprivation . Any input would be appreciated , I am worried about losing control of my bodily function and considering just riding it out ?
I had the radiation treatment with the SpaceOar and had zero side effects. None. Couldn't be happier with the results.
I did not, however, have any hormone deprivation with it, just straight radiation treatment, so I can't speak to the side effects to the OrgvoyxFor my first encounter with PC my Biopsy came back with cancer in 5 of 6 of the areas biopsied, 1-Gleason 9, and 4-Gleason 8's, so it was high risk for me. I could have gone with radiation or surgery. I chose surgery and my PSA was undetectable for 2 years. This spring I had 2 PSA tests that went slightly above detectable (known as BCR). I am now on chapter 2: and being treated via 6 months of Orgovx and 38 IMRT treatments. Today I will have been on Orgovyx for 4 months and will have radiation treatment #32 today. The only side-effect I am having from these 2 treatments is fatigue and some brain fog, no lower GI issues at all. Hope this helps.
