Penile implants

It saddens me to read all the posts about having ED after prostate surgery. I went through this and finally made up my to get an inflatable penile implant. I had investigated this for years, but after watching the surgery videos, it looked to invasive. I learned that in reality it's very simple, and in most cases only one overnight stay in the hospital. I had it done and have been completely satisfied. I would like to kick myself for not having it done sooner. I would advise everyone considering this to seek out a experienced implant surgeon at a major medical hospital. I sincerely hope that many of you will read this and get help for your ED and get your sex life back.

  1. Hi thank you so much for sharing with us. I know our community members will find your post very helpful. Jill, prostatecancer.net team

    1. I just wish surgeons doing prostate surgeries would tell their patients about this when the patient comes back later and tells them they have severe ED. I only found out about it when searching on the internet for anything that would help. My urologist never told me about it even after hearing how desperate I was for anything that would help.

      1. Agree when you look at the videos it sure does not appear to be a simple process. Your story should be very helpful to others who have questions about this procedure. Dennis (ProstateCancer.net TEAM)

    2. I would be glad to answer any question I could from anyone who is considering having the surgery.

      1. Mr. rrmack, Where and with whom could I have this procedure performed? Thank you. John Michael

        1. Hi: Mine was done at Duke Urology in Raleigh, N.C., by Doctor Aaron Lentz. He was the top rated implant surgeon in my area (North Carolina). If you are not near this area, you can do an internet search for the best rated and most experienced surgeon in your area. They are usually associated with a large medical facility. Best of luck to you Sir.

        2. thank you
