Prostate Cancer caused by ionizing radiation (not nuclear bomb testing) or asbestos

Are there any forum users or monitors that could help me in creating a medically sound statement that ties Prostate Cancer to ionizing radiation from nuclear propulsion systems and or asbestos exposure?

Thanks in advancec.

  1. Hi . I need to stress that we are not medical professionals and, for your safety cannot offer/provide medical advice. There is existing research into these areas. There are a number of articles that have shown a potential link between asbestos exposure and prostate cancer. This article describes a couple of them: Stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT). Here is another study coming to the same conclusion: https://oem.bmj.com/content/76/Suppl_1/A71.1.
The connection between ionizing radiation and prostate cancer is much more difficult to establish. This article says that U.S. Health and Human Services "suggests a possible association" between prostate cancer and ionizing radiation: https://www.nrc.gov/about-nrc/radiation/health-effects/rad-exposure-cancer.html. It does, however, note that any increase in dose results in an incremental increase in risk. Hope this information is helpful. Best, Richard (ProstateCancer.net Team)
