In 2001 doctor said my numbers were creeping up. In 2002 they exploded. I was getting PSA before insurance coverage. Every year I had a physical and PSA. In May 2003 I had surgery for advanced aggressive prostate cancer. Had I skipped my physical game would have been over. In 2004 I co-chaired a prostate cancer awareness workshop with 120 folks. Also, as a licensed counselor, I began counseling men facing decisions on prostate cancer. I am still active in getting out the word. In September I wear my blue ribbon and blue wristband. My theme is early detection is the key.
