I just had an Axumin Pet Scan just before Thanksgiving 2021. After 3 years and 3 months of remission, it showed back up.

They did my scan at 0.1 PSA and found a small place in a lymph node. I have had 96 sessions of radiation in 4 places in my body already. Here It is Feb. 2022 and we are still waiting for my radiation records of 2007 and 2010 to see if we can use radiation again. Any way the Axumin Pet worked for me when my PSA was 0.1.

sam-collins. Thanks for sharing have a PSMA scan in two hours. Entering my fourteenth year since I was diagnosed. Cancer had spread early. Have never been able to see it on yearly scans. Really just want to know where it hangs it hat. Little late in the game for futher treatment for me. But will see what we find. sam-collins. My results showed no cancer. Blessed but PSA contiues to rise. Guess its to little to pick up. DanF, Moderator, ProtateCancer.net.

I had my PSMA with my PSA up to .7. No cancer found. Have you looked at Proton radiation? My Radiation Oncologist said that it can be used sometimes where broad band cannot.

Pinkertonk. No I have not looked at Proton radiation. I don't even know what that is -- I'm embarrased to say. Guess I have some research to do. Thanks for the tip. Been told I'm not a candidate for radiation since they cant find the cancer yet-too small. One advantage of proton radiation apparently is that it stops at the target and dies not pass through to other organs etc. Proton is rather new but gaining momentum. Some medical plans do not cover it yet. If you search availability of proton on line you will find several locations. Here in Ct two hospitals have joined together and have been approved to build a proton facility. As this is a new form of treatment there are as far as I know no 10/15 year patient histories on results. Preliminary appears to be very positive… Dennis(ProstateCancer.net TEAM)
