Deciding On Prostate Treatment
Prostate cancer diagnosis
67 white male, PSA 10, biopsy was Gleason 3+4, non-metastatic. Urologist is a Lap Rad Pro whose only treatment is removal. I sought out less invasive treatments first and went with HIFU. PSA's over the following two years went from 1.6 to 2.3. Going for another biopsy and determine follow-on treatments - HIFU again, Beam Radiation Therapy, etc. My urologist won't touch a prostate post HIFU and Brachytherapy will not place temp or permanent seeds since the structure of the prostate has changed. The internet is full of the next best thing treatment - so hard to decide.
