Prostate cancer and awareness
I’m a PC survivor with stage 3 cancer and I’m a fitness instructor at a local Y. I used my last treatment as a way to raise awareness of the disease by sharing my story with friends and coworkers about my 8-year struggles, the ups, the downs and finally the acceptance of what my life really is.
My mantra, get tested, know your risk, and above all stay as fit as you can. You may well need it in the long-term struggle with the many side effects of ADT. The science and the options for PC treatment are rapidly evolving. Ask lots of questions about your options if diagnosed with PC and seek out others who have struggled to stay alive with it.
