Fighting Prostate Cancer

PSA rising

I had a check up in May 2023 and my Dr. tole me my PSA went from 4 to 12 in one year. 4.1 is the number they use to investigate your cancer further so I was confused why one year was let to pass. I did get an MRI and biopsy to confirm the prostate cancer. I decided to have surgery to remove the prostate. Everything went well. On my follow up my PSA was still 6 and the Dr. said it should be 0. I got another PET scan and my Dr. said it had spread into my hip bone which is incurable.

Treatment after surgery

I am staying active and am on hormone therapy to keep my testosterone low. I take Zytiga every night and get Eligard shots twice a year. I had lost my job because of the cancer last May. My oncologist found some organization to cover the Zytiga but the Eligard shot is $4,000 twice a year with a copay of $960 for me. While my wife is working and we have insurance we cannot make this payment. Can anyone suggest an organization to help us?

I am trying to keep a positive attitude and fighting for my life. My energy level is depleted and I am trying to work part time according to my energy. I applied for disability in December through a lawyer and still have not been approved.

Thank you ahead of time for your consideration.
