"it's a good cancer to get" a quote from my primary care doctor !!!!!!

Diagnosed with prostate cancer

I was introduced to Prostrate Cancer with the words, "you have cancer, I'm not familiar with your case. You need to make another appointment with your doctor". I walked out and never went back. I found another urologist who told me you have a PSA that's in double digits, your Gleason score of 4/3, biopsy shows a stage 3 aggressive cancer.

Difficulty finding a good doctor

what would you like me to do? "I would like you to make me not have cancer anymore". I walked out and never returned. My third urologist told me the same as the others, options, "YOU have options". I chose radiation. It went well and I tolerated it pretty well. Hormone therapy was a train wreck from the get-go. It seems like I got ALL the bad side effects and some new ones too. The only thing I could do is take what came at me and deal with it as best I could. It has been 4 years since I saw my first urologist and I'm sure I will see a few more before this is over.

Currently in remission

As for me, I was told that I am in remission and my PSA is close to undetectable. How long is it going last, I don't know. I do know that it is time to start living MY best life. There are no quick fixes for cancer. I know, I tried and I never found it. I know doctors work hard and most are very good at what they do. Some just don't fit your mold and it's ok to find another. Peace Out, Johnny B.
