Mr Doug Lindley

PSA test during check up

I had by chance asked my GP for an RE. when having my 6monthly checkup for my heart condition. He did the "finger trick" & said:I don't like the feel of that, I will give you a referral to a Urologist" So off I went. My PSA test was 17, & she immediately referred me for a Biopsy.

Biopsy leads to prostate cancer diagnosis

The Biopsy was positive for Prostate Cancer, so again immediately referred to the State Hospital Cancer Dept. In the space of 5 months, my PSA had gone from 17 to 25. The cancer doctor said Doug there is no cure for this, the best we can do is to knock it down & keep reviewing it ongoing.
Prostate cancer treatment
He started the treatment, First a hormone antigen treatment; then the "Chemo" treatment. Almost finished the "Chemo" now & my PSA is testing at 1. I feel great, no big difficulties with the Chemo, & so with continual, regular checkups hopefully I will be able to keep this under control. Just a tip; I found that eating lots of vegetables ( greens & reds) & reducing( but not eliminating the red meats) very helpful in keeping my energy levels up & helping my body eliminate all the excess poisons. Also lots of naturally occurring anti-oxidants & vitamins, I think also helped my body cope with any stresses of Chemo. The moral of the story is GUYS, GET CHECKED OUT REGULARLY. Good luck all.
