My prostrate journey

Prostate cancer diagnosis

I started my journey by having concerns about a week stream. PSA was not alarming (below 4) Finger test was no concern. After the tests doctor agreed to be safe to do a biopsy. Good thing I did. All but one were positive. The only option I wanted was “get cancer out” I just turned 65 and decided with Medicare to also sign up for Plan G.

Prostate cancer reatment and treatment cost

My only cost was the $223 deductible, of the almost $100,000 total surgery. This was 2 years ago and right in the middle of Covid, which caused a month delay in the surgery. Today, I am still cancer free. I go for another PSA/check-up next week. The side effect I have is no erections. The family had no history of prostate cancer. So, I would suggest being self-motivated and doing whatever it takes to make sure your prostate is cancer free….
