Robotic Laparoscopic Prostatectomy

Robotic Laparoscopic Prostatectomy

I had surgery for prostate cancer on Nov. 21, 2022, and stayed two days in the hospital after surgery. I am currently at home recovering from this surgery. I thought about radiation but due to the cancer being confined to the prostate I choose surgery. It has been very difficult having to have a catheter for 2 weeks but it helps with the healing process. It's been over a week since the catheter has been removed.

Beginning the Healing process

I know it's early in my recovery but I pray and hope I don't have to deal with urinary incontinence for the rest of my life. My Doctor said I will improve as time passes. I have noticed the improvement already. It's been just 24 days since surgery so I will continue to trust my journey. I was so fearful about being impotent but I have started sexual rehabilitation in that area also. The doctor prescribed me Cialis to take daily and do Kegel exercise. I am going to recover and live my life to its fullest. I still struggle some days but to know I did what was best for my life. Makes it worthwhile. Keep me in your prayers.
