Stage IV, Multifocal and Intraductal

I have the prostate cancer stage 4, multi focal high grade Intraductal carcinoma. If someone has experience or any advice with this particular cancer please let me know.
I would really appreciate any information for my case.

Good afternoon, This article was written about me. 7 months post-op I was labeled no evidence of disease. I walk everyday, operate heavy equipment and fly a helicopter with a great friend. My original surgery Feb 2018 lasted almost 12 hours. Not sure when you were diagnose, but here is what I had gone through since I too was diagnose with stage 4 prostate cancer in October of 2014. First I got a body scan - found that the cancer has just barely gotten into my hip - not bad but still they thought my best route of therapy was first to get chemo for 8 weeks then I get a shot from my urologist every 6 months and then they put me on a medicine call Xtandi which seems to work as my PSA has been "Zero" ever since. So this has worked from me and they big thing was no surgery, now here it is been almost 5 years and doing well - yes I do get tired but knowing that they only expected me to live 6 months this was great and the doctors are still amaze how well I am doing.

Not sure your age but I am 42 and was diagnosed about 2 years ago with stage 3 but decided to get a PSMA which wasn't covered by my insurance. The scan we found some additional spots on my spine that were missed by the bone scan. Now that I was stage 4 I had to get more serious. I decided to change doctors twice since they just wanted to treat me with medication and I wanted to me more aggressive. I figured I might as well fight as hard as I can while I am young enough to handle it. So far after 10 rounds of Chemo and surgery I have been at undetectable PSA levels for about 6 months. Be your own advocate and ask lots of questions.

 Great that your treatment has been so successful and yes it's so important to work together with our physicians. We put our lives in their hands! I've also been stable for 3 years since my stage 4 diagnosis and, whilst treatment side effects are challenging, I'm able to lead a pretty full life. Long may we experience low PSA's!

The trouble with prostate cancer is --- we all are different and we all react to treatment in our own way. Add to the mix that prostate cancer is not a single disease but rather a complex mix. My advice is always to ask lots of questions of your medical team and take every day one day at a time and enjoy life. No amount of worry will cure any of us. I do a lot of work with the DoD and their underwriting of over $100 million in grants for prostate cancer research - All I can say a lot of people are working on future cures and treatments - hang in there lots going on. 😀 Dennis(ProstateCancer.net Team)
