Urinary incontinence

Urinary incontinece after treatment

I am one of the unfortunate 5 to 10% who continue to struggle with incontinence after surgery. It's been over two years now for me. I did PT and kegels for 8 weeks or so following surgery. I never did get dry and so my urologist referred me to his best physical therapist for male incontinence last summer I did 5 -6 months of additional PT with some improvement, but could never completely stop the leaking.

Next steps

So, the next step is a cystoscopy on August 1st to see if there has been any scarring where the urethra was reattached to the bladder which has contributed to the incontinence. It's not terrible, but I'm getting tired of it. If cystoscopy does not reveal any abnormalities, I will be seeing a doctor of reconstructive urology discuss further options. If any men have gone down the path I am on, any recommendations or words of advice would be appreciated. Thanks!
