My wife has been with me thru all my cancer journey . She understands what it means for me to have this .

I've been with my husband through his cancer journey of 13 years. Now I'm walking with my daughter through her journey with breast cancer. Certainly the impact on a man with prostate cancer differs from the impact on a woman with breast cancer, but both lose part of their identity. It's important that they know that the changes in their bodies, their identity and their lives will in no way change my love.

The old fashioned stuff like love, family, content of character, kindness and working together are hard to beat in my book... especially when the chips are down

I agree. Nothing beats family and friends who care and who support the cancer patient in the fight. That support can take many and varied forms and actions - it takes a village. We are grateful for our village.

Dennis, I always appreciate your well thought out and insightful posts, but this most recent one is perhaps the one I like the best. At the end of the day, the true test of 'in sickness and in health" is the ability to reaffirm your love and commitment to your partner. This journey is just another of life and love's challenges that we must meet together.
