Alternatives to Lupron?
I don't know w here to start. I had a rapidly increasing PSA number 4 years ago. The scan cancer at the top of my prostate. I was convinced that due to where tumors were the best surgery would be robotic. I had the prostate removed. One year ago my PSA began to rise, I had cancer on my stomach. They used radiology and it looks like it is gone. (My PSA is now 0.67). I am getting Lupron injections that have become a nightmare due to the numbness, stiffness and pain in my fingers and hands. Anyone know of a alternative to Lupron?
Best to discuss the alternative with your MD. I also had Lupron prior to radiation and it was not a fun experience. For me it was issues with sleeping, hot flashes, mood swings and weight gain.
Sometimes in the rush to stop cancer quality of life issues are put on the back burner. Never hurts to ask your Doc
