Dear Redroadtraveler -- I was diagnosed with Advanced Prostate Cancer with Extensive Bone Metastasis Stage 4 May 22, 2017, my initial chemo treatment was indeed Docetaxel. I also received a week of radiation treatments. Docetaxel was the toughest thing I ever experienced in my life. At the time I was diagnosed, I was a physical education instructor/coach, therefore, I was in extremely good physical condition. You need to know that Docetaxel is known by patients as "the Red Devil". Symptoms I experienced include but not limited to: hot flashes, nausea, diarrhea, extreme constipation at times, high blood pressure, lost my fingernails, lost some toe nails, puking, metal taste in mouth, could not eat (at one point all I could eat was popsicles and ice water). I lost 41 pounds and every hair on my body, and I suffered extreme bouts of depression and anxiety. At one point, I told my wife, "I can not do this anymore!" This is just my own personal experience and anyone should make their own decisions concerning their cancer treatments. I am just recounting truthfully all that I experienced. I will keep you in my prayers daily. Best of Luck! -- Duane
