I've posted my journey here on the forum in the past.
To summarize, PSA jumped 8/10 of a point to, 3.2, over the course of a year and primary care felt a nodule. PSA retest was 3.4 and urologist felt a nodule. Had a biopsy. They found Gleason 6 on left side of prostate. Less than 50% of the cores were positive. Had an MRI and Prolaris genomic test. Prolaris showed low risk of spread with 1.7% change this cancer would kill me. MRI showed the suspicious areas on left of prostate where Gleason 6 cancer was found.
Took everything up to Dana Farber for a second opinion. PSA had dropppes to 2.9 and doctor said he did not feel any nodule. Doctor said all looked good for active surveillance but he wanted to do a second, targeted biopsy of the suspicious areas from the MRI. Second biopsy also showed only Gleason 6. However, pathologist identified Intraductal Carcinoma in 40% of one of the cores from the left side. Doctor has me coming up for an appt and is indicating I now need treatment and most likely radical prostatectomy.
Has anyone had this experience with Intraductal Carcinoma? I follow a lot from the Prostate Cancer Research Institute and have read two of Dr Sholz's books and there isn't a lot of information. Hoping to get some insight from you guys.
