Nappy rash - Do you recommend a cream.

My first grandson was born same time as I was about to have my prostatectomy. I said to him, the race is on to get toilet trained first. Three years ago... he won. I still leak badly. The tip of 'Charlie' as I affectionally call my penis now since surgery is constantly sore. red and sometimes even goes a bit white as skin dies. (UG!) Has anyone found a good cream that helps with this? I talked to my continence nurse and was recommended a cream. This would help the first day, but it got way worse for a few days after that. So stopped using it. Then tried it twice more with the same results.
