Waiting for results

I had radical prostatectomy approximately 8 weeks ago. At the time my PSA was 4.06 and Gleason score was 3+4. My doctor said the Cancer had broken through the outer casing surrounding the prostate and attached to my lymph nodes. Now I am waiting for blood work to see if the Cancer has spread anywhere else. I was good with the diagnosis, I was good with the surgery, I'm even okay with the leakage. But this waiting is driving me crazy. Any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

  1. I wish you the best. Waiting is always the hardest. Did they find a nodule on your prostate during a rectal exam??
Hoping all is well for you and your test results come back clean. Take Care

    1. they did find 2 nodules during the exam. I got my blood work back today. PSA is 0.04 after 90 days of surgery. Hope that's a good sign.

  2. That is wonderful news Dieseldog Lets hope it stays low

    1. The waiting game is probably one of the hardest parts of all this. Everyone manages the stress of the wait differently. Some keep busy 22 hours a day until they fall asleep from exhaustion (my method), some sleep time away while they wait, some confide in a friend who supports them while they wait. Everyone has to find what works for them. What I've found in my life (husband prostate cancer and 3x recurrence) and daughter just diagnosed with breast cancer, when the wait passes, it's followed by anger and sadness, and once we work through those, the fight in us returns and we're in warrior mode. Again, everyone is different, but I certainly prefer to be a warrior but need to work through the steps to get there.
