Waiting on post op PSA

72yr, RP with pelvic lymph nodes disection/biopsy. Lymph node, bladder neck and urethra tissues were + for the cancer. Was told we'll check PSA at 12 weeks post op, if PSA is absent I'm ok, if not they'll probably suggest radiation/hormone therapy. With my other health problems I've tried to avoid hormone therapy & the side effects. I'm already osteopenic, have chronic pain from 3 spinal fusions, and chronic fatigue also. Starting to get bummed, waiting on PSA in a few weeks. As a US Marine Corps veteran and retired professional firefighter I'm not a wimp but it is starting to work on me, especially the waiting.......

  1. Hi many of our community members will say the waiting period is so hard. It must be difficult to think about anything else. Sending you lots of strength. Please keep us posted. Jill, prostatecancer.net team
