Where to get Orgovyx

Starting SBRT , likely next week with ADT starting at the time. I got my doc to prescribe Orgovyx rather than Lupron. On Medicare with Part D. Turns out Walgreens and Walmart cannot get Orgovyx. CVS said they could route it through a specialty pharmacy but could take 4 weeks.

How have those of you taking Orgovyx obtained it, and how long did it take to get it?

Many thanks in advance

  1. Hi thanks for reaching out. I did a search on our site and couldn't find any information pertaining to your question. I do hope our members respond here with any personal experiences they may have had. In the meantime, I would reach out to your doctor's office and ask if they have any recommendations for getting the medication. I would also reach out to your insurance company. I hope you can find a way to get the medication faster. Jill, prostatecancer.net team

    1. I am about to wrap up the same dual treatments; Finished 2 months of SBRT (38 treatments) in October. And started 6 months of Orgovyx in June. My care and treatments have been provided by Northwestern University Medicine (Chicago). Once my insurance company approved the Orgovyx it was provided to me by the Universities own "specialty pharmacy". You might want to ask your prescribing doctor or search the web for specialty pharmacies? Wishing you the best as you work thru these treatments. I found the side effects of the Orgovyx to be minimal and hoping the same for you. Feel free to reach out and keep us posted as there is a lot of caring and sharing on this website. Having just gone thru the same adventure; I can also share my own experiences (and perhaps answer a few questions) ..

      1. Thank you. Talking to my radiation oncologist tomorrow to see if we can find a place to get it that my Part D covers.

        1. My doctors are at a cancer center which has a specialty pharmacy that primarily provides cancers drugs. They provide me with Orgovyx. The rest of my meds come from local pharmacy. Beyond what my insurance pays (which is alot), the specialty pharmacy got me a discount card for Orgovyx. So my copay is only $10 for a 30-day supply.
