Have you and your employer discussed workplace accommodations due to your prostate cancer?

  1. I know this post is old but I thought I would respond. I told my boss what's going on and her response was "it's only work" and that health comes first. I didn't have to mention laws or leaves or anything like that.

She also was very sympathetic and reminded me that, as an exempt employee (salaried), if I work even an hour a day it counts as a day worked and I don't need to use sick time.

There were many times I went above and beyond at work and put in some long hours and finished projects early. I'm REALLY happy that is recognized and now that I need some time it's not going to be a big issue

    1. thanks for responding to this. I am so glad to hear you have a sympathetic boss that is understanding. It sounds like they really value you at work, this must be such a relief to know you can take time as you need. Jill, prostatecancer.net team
