   <p>It would be helpful to hear from someone in their 40s on this same topic. Based on our experience, the feelings are very different than those expressed here. Not much available for the under 50 crowd, but they are the ones that will be dealing with the side effects the longest.</p>

   <p>When I had my prostate removed I was divorced didn&#39;t have a steady relationship. Since then I have had only a few close relationships where discussions about sexual desires seem appropriate. <br> They have not gone well. That was over 10 years ago. <br> Perhaps I need therapy on sexual intimacy as I am over 65 and lonely. <br> What can I expect from seeing a sex or intimacy therapist?</p>

      <p>Most MD&#39;s I speak with say that issues below the belt line result from both physical issues as well as issues occurring above the shoulders. In short the more concern you have over performance, the more likely the problem will continue. Certainly not advice just an observation. <br> <br> Personally I would look at 3 solutions: <br> <br> 1) Join a support group and spend some time listening and learning how other men are approaching the subject and what experiences they have had with dating and sex. <br> <br> 2) Try to keep yourself physically active as it increases blood flow to all parts of your body. <br> <br> 3) Speak with a therapist that deals with cancer survivors - they appear to have a different take on life and I have found them to be very helpful.
