Alternatives to TURP

I had rezum done 5 years ago. Best decision I made. Procedure done at my urologist office, had to wear a catheter for 5 days but saw immediate and sustain improvement 5 years later. No side effects to speak of.

Do not do urolift. Its only temporary.
(Look up uro stent and see the similarity)



Look up greenlight.
Vaporizes and cauterizes simultaneously. If there are cancer cells, they will be exposed to the urine channel only and subject to washing outward.
My opinion only.

All of these procedures have plus and minus impacts - A bud of mine told me he was sorry he had not asked his urologist if better pathology results were obtained after TURP or from a vaporized procedure.. That was a few years ago so I am not sure if things have changed a lot since then. But still a good question. Dennis (ProstateCancer.net TEAM)

Suddenly my urologist told me that since I have had radiation, he would not recommend TURP. Thank heavens because I had been stressing about this for too long.
