Hello- I am a 51 yo male, fairly active and had the radical prostatectomy on July 11,2023. Catheter for 7 days- regained control of urine flow in about 2 weeks- with the exception of about 2 nights a week when I am passed out from exhaustion. Not really worried there.
I was walking up to 6 miles per day and then did something stupid which caused me to re- enter ER due to blood clots in bladder.
Spent more time in hospital for that than the surgery and recovery.
Now back to 2 miles per day.
My first question has to do with me having to constantly (every 30 min or so) rush to the bathroom - urinating, and having pain while performing task. Did you experience any pain and if so, for how long?
Second- I seem to have a constant ache in the perineal area that seems to just linger- any thoughts on how long this may last?
Finally, I have periods of extreme cold and then break out in to sweating for no reason. Any experience here?
Thanks in advance for any insights you may be able to speak on - it’s greatly appreciated. Feeling helpless- did I make right decision? Everything seems overwhelming at time- I am usually not this way. Hoping these symptoms are just taking time repairing themselves.
‘Also- no additional chemo or radiation treatment - doctors have high assurance that all has been removed. First test is in two months.
