Hello, I am Cierra58. Here are my details.
ME
* In my 50s.
* Active, workout regularly (run, jog, power-walk) and otherwise good physical condition.
* Married to high school sweetheart. Adult kids.
CANCER
* Symptoms with minor pain showed up in May 2023.
* PSA averages around 40.
* MRI found tumor in transitional zone of the left hemiprostate. Likely involvement of left neurovascular bundle.
* Biopsy Gleason score was 4+3 (7)
* PSMA PET Scan showed tumor as described plus multifocal PSMA uptake in pelvic/iliac and retroperitoneal nodes. Three nodes total.
DOCTOR
20 years my senior with stern demeanor describing potential treatments more severe than I've found online for my condition. But he is considered one of the very best in my state and has the best surgeon in my state do the cutting with the newest best robot in the state.
* Next move is a CT scan and biopsy to make sure the nodes are truly diseased.
QUESTIONS
* Whats a normal treatment regiment for someone like me so I don't end up in Depends and so that I at least want to have sex even if I have to use hand-assist? My wife and I don't believe that the 40 years of sex we've had so far is enough.
* If you had something similar, what was your treatment and outcome?
* How long can I expect to live with stuff going on inside me?
* Should I fire the local rock stars and head down to MD Anderson?
Thanks for you help and advice.
