Hematuria folllowing Radiation
Finished radiation 9 months ago with no side effects during or afterwards. Recently I had five days of scary cola colored urine. It kind of cleared up but still looked a little pinkish. The urologist said it was a UTI although I have no other symptoms at all. When I asked how this comes about he said there's no telling for sure but sometimes the prostate will get "crusty" after radiation and lead to an infection. He put me on antibiotics and after 3 days I got what looked like pure blood urinating for a couple of days then back to slightly pinkish. I'm a little skeptical because prior to radiation I was getting traces of blood from urine analysis that were not visible.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
Now almost three months later there is still dark/bloody urine. Although the Urologist said it was a UTI it was not, as later determined by the urine culture. Even though it's been 9 months since radiation was finished he "thinks" that the radiation could have irritated something that was already there. He just sending me for another CT scan to look for something.

Patient 77yrs male suffered from Ca. Prostate Adeno carcinoma gr.5 Treated by Radical Robotic prostatectomy in 2013.In 2018, a small nodule appeard in posterior bladder wall diagnosed by PET-CT, which was treated by 35 doses of Radiotherapy. Further PET-CT were normal.
Now in 2023, sudden Hematuria occurred, which was treated by Indwelling catheter & flushing. Later on Cystoscopy done, which showed Hyperemic prostatic fossa, a few bleeding points were coagulated and indwelling cather put in. Now hematuria continues with macroscopic bleeding & spasm everyday. Any recommendations or similar experiences for further treatment will be appreciated.
