Length of treatment
Have been doing ADT for 20 years. Stage 3, Gleason score of 9. Original prognosis was 1-2 years. My PSA is up to 1.0. Doctors keep telling me that this is the longest they have known someone surviving with this treatment. Is there any record of length, or, limit to this?
, this is a good question and one I don't have an answer to. I'll share with the Facebook group and see if we get any experience from other folks there. It sounds pretty incredible to go from 1-2 years to 20 years, so if you're not the longest, it sounds like you'd certainly be in the upper end! PSA undetectable. Testosterone staying low. Originally, slowly rising PSA (nearly 10 at its highest), biopsy with Gleason score of 8, unsuccessful surgery to remove prostate, 44 radiation treatments,and the ADT.
The doctor said I would be on Lupron for at least a couple more years. Twenty years is amazing,

I’m on a Lupron for life so I hope I make it at least 20 years. I’m only a 2 years right now.
I was given a Lupron shot a few weeks prior to receiving radiation. I experienced a number of reactions - hot flashes, night sweats, poor sleep and hormone based emotional issues. At the same time there were guys in my education and support group who said they had zero issues with Lupron
Currently not on Lupron. I have spoken to a number men who have been on for a few years with excellent results. ...Dennis(prostatecancer.net) moderator
