Lupron side effects...............

Does anyone out there still have side effects of Lupron after over a year since there last dose ? I still have and feel the side effects and was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat ? I really hope that nobody else is , as they have been horrible in my case.

  1. Hi . I can't personally speak on this issue, but I do know that several of our contributors have noted that their Lupron side effects lasted quite a while after the last shot and beyond what was expected. Unfortunately, research also supports the effects potentially lasting a while. This research found 80% of participants reporting side effects lasting more than 6 months after stopping treatment: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5997553/#:~:text=Almost%20all%20(96%25)%20reported,%2C%20insomnia%2C%20and%20hot%20flashes. The good news is that in-spite of the long-term effects two-thirds of respondents said they would still recommend the treatment to others. Hoping you feel some relief soon. Best, Richard (ProstateCancer.net Team)

    1. Lasted over a year, off and on but eventually dissipated

      1. My experience with the Lupron shot are hot flashes mostly at night and an upset stomach. The hot flashes suck!

        1. I’m six months off xtandi/ Lupron combo. Typical side effects. No testosterone, loss of muscle mass, hot flashes and brain fog. Learning to live with them in hopes that they will dissipate eventually. If cancer returns, I will re evaluate my quality of life before returning to xtandi/ Lupron.

          1. Just an update…..cancer has returned to my lung . Dr is almost guaranteeing ( as much as a doc can) that repeating the Lupron and Xtandi combo will kill the cancer because we caught it early. So I am back to my life as it was these last three years. Luckily, knowing what exactly to expect oddly makes it a bit easier to deal with…….
