PSA of 27

This is actually for a friend of mine. He has a rising PSA that stands at 27. Has had 2 biopsies and MRI's a year apart that show no lesions or anomalies. The doctors are sort of perplexed at this point.
Any suggestions as what he can ask his doctor? Has anyone seen something similar?

Would a PSMA test show something that a biopsy or MRI miss?

Thanks for any suggestions

  1. : If faced with this situation, I would look into finding a prostate cancer specialist at a major cancer center vs. relying on a local MD or hospital or just one provider's opinion.
A PSMA PET scan may be the answer (as it was in my case), but not being a medical professional, I would not offer medical advice or seek out such advice on the internet. Thanks for reaching out, and do keep us posted on your friend's situation. Dennis(ProstateCancer.net TEAM)
