Radiation
I just started my 28 EBRT treatment course last week. Just wandering what others have experienced if you have had external radiation? I already feel like I have no energy, hip pain, dysuria and some diarrhea and I am only on treatment number 7. The doctor did let me know these would occur, but thought it would be later.
I did the EBRT in 2018 --- 5 days a week for 8 weeks and did not experience physical issues until the last 3 weeks.
Being on a shorter treatment schedule may suggest that you could be receiving higher doses of radiation in a shorter period of time so feeling some physical effects earlier than I did . Always good to ask your MD for inputMy issues were painful hemorrhoids some constipation and loss of energy. I did experience some burning with urinating but found the more water I drank the better it was all around.
Never had issues with hip pain but did discover that It was not necessary to have an excessive volume of water in my bladder prior to treatment. That suggestion offered by the radiation techs made it more comfortable . Hope that info helps a bit Dennis(ProstateCancer.net TEAM)Are you on an SBRT or EBRT protocol ? Have seen you refer to both. All of this stuff can be confusing.
