Hi
My PSA in Nov 2021 was 9.3 Saw a Urologist and had an MRI done. Results were two tumors grade 3. In Feb 2022 had a transperineal biopsy 27 samples were taken. 10 of the samples were cancer Gleason 3+4 (9) and 3+3 (1). My Dr is advising radiation treatment Cyberknife. I have a friend who had PC and did the Proton radiation and was pleased with his outcome. Since the nearest Proton treatment center to me is over 300 miles away from home and I can get the Cyberknife locally, I'm leasning towards the Cyberknife. Any thoughts from members who have had the Cyberknife?

  1. I had surgery then a few years later external beam radiation. So far all is good. Which works better Cyber or Proton appears to be unknown since there is not a long history of patient experiences to draw upon.

I suspect it is best to follow your instincts since no one can guarantee 100% success with any treatment protocol.

    1. Hi . I can't personally speak to Cyberknife, but my father-in-law had a combination of Cyberknife and traditional radiation a couple of years ago with good results. In addition, one of the other community members wrote here about his experience with Cyberknife: https://prostatecancer.net/stories/cyberknife-was-pain-free. Overall, we have seen positive comments on both treatments. Wishing you the best and please feel free to keep us posted on how you are doing. Richard (ProstateCancer.net Team)
