Prostrate removal without cancer diagnosis

Hi guys,
My PSA levels have been going up quite alarmingly, I’m now at 27, and despite having 3 MRI’s and 2 Biopsies, they cannot find any definitive proof of cancer. My doctor now suggests, our next course of action, should be to remove my prostrate.
Any thoughts? I was a bit bewildered to be honest.

  1. Hey - Thanks for sharing this update here. I can certainly understand your bewilderment. That's hard news/suggestion to receive from your doctor. It sounds like you've been through a lot already with your MRIs, biopsies, and what sounds like regular blood work. You are not alone in facing this kind of news in this community. We have an article that goes through some of these options if you might find that helpful, beyond the info you receive from your doctor (https://prostatecancer.net/treatment/surgery). And here's a similar conversation taking place that might be helpful to read through and jump in on (https://prostatecancer.net/forums/surgery-or-not). - Jake (Team Member)
