Treatment options for relapsed cribriform prostate cancer

It's 12 years since my prostatectomy and my PSA is rising. Cribriform cancer with Gleason7 (4+3). Expecting to undergo radiation & take LUPRON. Details TBD.

I've read about PROTON Therapy as an alternative to Photon radiation therapy. Can anyone comment regarding there experience with PROTON therapy and if it's a better alternative to standard Photon radiation therapy?

thanks

  1. I also have cribriform prostate cancer.
Can you tell me how low your psa got to after prostatectomy?
We’re you getting the ultra sensitive psa done?
When did it start to rise?
Sorry to ask so many questions but I am trying to understand my own situation as best as I can.

    1. .02 was the lowest. .04 was the highest for 11 years. Then in the last year went up to .42. Not sure if it was the ultra sensitive test.

      1. Hi I am glad a discussion is starting based on your question. I also wanted to send you over an article from one of our advocates with their experience with proton therapy. This is the first of a three part article that he wrote: https://prostatecancer.net/living/diagnosis-psa-biopsy. I hope this is helpful. Jill, prostatecancer.net team

        1. Thank you for the article. I'll check it out
