Worried over possible diagnosis

Been experiencing lower back pain and right leg stiffness for 4-5 weeks. Finally got an MRI which showed a very small low- density lesion on my tailbone and another small lesion on my hip (iliac bone)
Radiologist/attending DR messaged me and already mentioned possible metastatic prostate as a possibility. Seems awfully rash of a diagnosis. Looking for any POV’s to hopefully settle my anxiety potentially. Thank you !

  1. I was misdiagnosed with non existent Leukemia when I was in my 30's. That scared me. Just last year I was misdiagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Turned out to be a very treatable form of non-Hodgkins which is now in remission.

The long and short is ... wait for the actual results of the testing. In my opinion it is bad form to be suggesting any possible test outcomes when an MD suspects cancer. If you have Prostate Cancer (as I do) a lot can be done to slow down or stop it depending on the stage. Overall Prostate Cancer (PCa) tends to be very slow growing. I know several men who have lived for years with advanced PCa.

Try to focus on the positives as much as you can. Please keep us informed. Dennis(ProstateCancer.net TEAM)

    1. Well you will know more and be able to plan once you have a confirmed diagnosis

    2. Some MD's are shall we say a bit lacking when it comes to patient sensitivity. Their awareness often improves dramatically once they become patients 😀 Again good luck

  2. Well one down and ruled out. PSA test for prostate came back at 0.7. Feeling very relieved on that front. Thanks for the well wishes.

    1. So happy to hear that, ! Congrats on the relieving result. -Samuel, Team member
