Psa 172

My husband recently got a call back from his doctor because his PSA results showed his low at 172. He’s 52 years old, but had pancreatic cancer when he was 36. He’s terrified that he has cancer again. Biopsy on Tuesday. All the research I’m done talking about levels being over five or six, but nothing ever talks about a level of 172. Does this mean he probably has cancer?

  1. Hi I am glad you reached out. I am sure you are both overwhelmed and have feelings of uncertainty. It is good that he will have his biopsy tomorrow so that you will know more and not have to wait. I am sending over a few articles that I hope can help you: https://prostatecancer.net/diagnosis/psa-test, https://prostatecancer.net/diagnosis/early-detection and https://prostatecancer.net/living/psa-blood-test-results. Please keep us posted on how he is doing. We will be thinking of both of you tomorrow. Jill, prostatecancer.net team

    1. But does that PSA level usually mean cancer??

      1. I wish I could help you more, but I am not a medical professional. I am glad the biopsy is today and hopefully you can get more answers. Please keep us posted. Jill, prostatecancer.net team
