You Don’t Look Like You Have Cancer!

How do you deal with this comment? It’s supposed to be a compliment I think, but it causes a little bit of guilt.
I’ve done it all, in the five years since first being diagnosed with stage four.
Currently on regimen of chemotherapy but with no side effects, none! Haven’t lost weight, no nausea, very little fatigue, no hot flashes, no hair loss.. I had major spinal tumor removal surgery recently due to the cancer… I post just to say I wish people would think before they speak.
My heart goes out to others fighting stage four who aren’t as lucky as me.

  1. Hi I can understand why this would be so frustrating, I wanted to share this article from one of our members who feels the same: https://prostatecancer.net/living/look-sick. I am glad to hear you are doing ok and haven't had any side effects. I hope you have a wonderful holiday. Jill (Team Member)

    1. : Was on chemo for a while and was grateful for the lack of negative treatment impacts. Deciding to ignore the well-intentioned but misguided comments took some time. Now, for better or worse, I smile and move on. Dennis (ProstateCancer.net. TEAM)
