I am 58 and my PSA is 11 and my gleson score is 4+3 and im scared

  1. Hi . People here understand how hard it is to hear you have cancer and your concerns are certainly understandable. I want to share with you this article from our editorial team which compiled thoughts from our contributors for the newly diagnosed: https://prostatecancer.net/living/newly-diagnosed-fears. Also, this article from Dennis discusses steps for the newly diagnosed: https://prostatecancer.net/living/newly-diagnosed-advice. Have you discussed treatment options yet? A Gleason 7 is generally slower growing and leaves open a variety of treatment options. Have you had any tests beyond the biopsy, such as an MRI? I hope this information is helpful and as you move forward please feel free, if you like, to provide additional information and to ask questions - this community is here for you. Best, Richard (Team Member)

    1. Im fixing to read the article.. and again T.Y.

  2. Just take it 1 step at a time. 23.7 PSA Feb 2024 .. Gleason 4+3 .. can be frustrating, I was diagnosed during a life insurance blood test .. amonth to see primary, a month to see urologist .. a month for blodd test, another month for MRI, another month for biopsy, another month for PSMA PET scan ... finally had prostatectomy .. positive margins, stage T3b .. radiation and hormone therapy ... can be long road but hang in there

    1. Your story is just like mine, blood test then a month later - MRI - a month after that a - biopsy - a month after that a -PET scan - then I seen my doctor yesterday, he put me on ORGOVYX and I start radiation in a month, with that being said, the cancer was contained to the prostate and im woundering if i should have it taken out are do the treatment, was yours contained and how are you doing so far..

  3. After consultimg with urologist and family I had mine removed. NO it was not contained but after 35 radiation treatments and ADT hormone therapy PSA 0.02< .. Many side effects from surgery and treatment but slogging through

    1. Im thinking try the treatment and when i am done, if it stops the cancer then roll with it, but if my PSA is higher are even if it has grown just a little, then the prostate comes out..... what do you think about my choice. my dad had hes taken out and i dont if you have looked into this are not, but with hes - ED -
DYSFUCTION, he chose the pump but he said if he had to do it again he would have chose the WIRE. just saying... thank you for talking with me, it means alot !
its really scary and i dont get scared vary easy, but here i am right in the middle of it.

  4. Every persons treatment is a personal choice. Good luck!!

    1. yea, I wish god would give me a call and tell me what to do. LOL good luck to you to...
