My husband just diagnosed with aggressive prostate cancer
Aggressive prostate cancer? #9 on the Gleason score. What? Where do we go from here? Yes we need a CT scan and a bone scan.
I have to say this news isn’t comforting to me, especially since our son died 2 months ago and I’m still reeling from that.
How do I go about helping my husband through this?

, while some talk about being glad to finally have a diagnosis, this is not the news you want to hear. Having lost your son so recently must make this that much more difficult. Hi polarman. First, let me say that I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your son. As Nina stated, your husband's diagnosis coming so soon after is quite a blow and it is completely understandable that you may feel overwhelmed and have many questions. It is great that you have sought out a place where you can get information and support. I want to let you know that many men diagnosed with Gleason 9 prostate cancer are treated successfully. Thank you for your kind words and attached stories of Len and Patti. Inspiring and informative. Our son had diabetes type 1 and 2 which complicated his care he also lost his sight due to the diabetes, he did have a kidney pancreas transplant 8 years ago. The "caregiver" aspect of his care is quite different than I assume will be with my husband. So reading Patti's story has helped a great deal.

I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your son. #9 score is very aggressive in prostate stage. Yes definitely you need CT and bone scan, but first I suggest you to consult with Urologist. I wish your husband get well soon.
