Treatment for Biochemical Recurrence

I had a Biochemical Recurrence, with a doubling time of two months, which is a very fast doubling time. My PSA reached 0.1, I underwent a PSMA PET Scan, and an FDG-PET Scan, both were clear, which is understandable for such a low PSA reading. Because of my rapid doubling time, my Medical Oncologist started me on a course of Lupron and Xtandi. I've been on the treatment for a month, my PSA has dropped to 0.01, which is encouraging, it's early days yet, but no side effects, which is also encouraging. I'm staying positive and looking forward to many more years with my grandchildren.

  1. It sounds like you have been through a lot with this recurrence. It is really encouraging to hear that your PSA has dropped to 0.01 after a month of treatment and that you haven't experienced any side effects so far. I really love your outlook, too - looking forward to many more years with your grandchildren is a pretty powerful reason to stay positive! -Kimberli (Team Member)
