Urine Retention
Has anyone experienced Urine Retention after a longhaul flight, I currently have a catheter fitted to resolve the issue but have been advised its not due to the flight?

I can't speak to your situation, but I did find this research article that notes that urinary retention is one of the most common in-flight urological emergencies, but it says nothing about the flight being the cause: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/31821067/. Did your doctors offer ideas for what caused the issue? Best, Richard (Team Member) Hi Richard, thanks for the article, unfortunately no the doctors do not have any ideas what caused the incident, I have flown on both longhaul and short-haul without issues but it has occurred after 2 flights now ! Albrighton some years apart, I do have an enlarged prostate also.

. It is know that an enlarged prostate is a cause of urinary retention. Also, I can't speak for this site, but it discusses how the prolonged sitting during long travel can cause urinary retention: https://desertskyurology.com/blog/how-does-travel-impact-your-urinary-system.
