My real problem

My real problem is my incontinence. I had my robotic surgery 5 months ago and I don't have any amelioration,I am still incontinent.

Incontinence after surgery

The surgeon make a mistake he use a not melted tread to sew my urethra. I'm still waiting to receive a call from the hospital to remove that tread. I really don't feel confident with the urologist, he is a real cowboy. He put me on the waiting list to repair this mistake. For the rest, for me, sexuality is also important, but To stop wearing diaper is more important for me. Sorry for my bad English, I am French.

Wish you well. Still have some leakage fourteen years later, but had bladder csancer also. Keep doing your exercises and talk with your doc. DanFranke, team member, prostate cancer .net.

Hey George I'm sorry that you are going through this mess. All I can say is keep up with the doctor. Call him every week at least to see if there was a cancellation so you can get this taking care of. Don't give up on him You need to get your life back. All the best....Ken

I speak as someone who worked in addressing hospital mistakes at a major medical center. First if you are in the USA you have the right to request a French speaking medical translator be at any meeting involving major questions and decisions about medical care. This person must be licensed and is at the hospital's expense (if you bring a friend or family member to translate that is your choice but the hospital still needs to provide a professional translator). I suggest if you aren't hearing back from the physician that you call the hospital Risk Management (or it may be called Patient Safety) Department and state that you wish to file a grievance (they are mandated to follow-up when you use this word). Describe what your concern is and ask when you will hear back from them. I suggest that you approach them politely and recognize that they hear from a lot of angry people every day and having someone speak politely helps them want to help you. Good luck!
