We are extremely saddened to say that on April 25, 2026, Pete passed away. Pete was a valued member of the ProstateCancer.net community and an incredible advocate and avid writer. We are so honored that Pete shared his story and so much of his experience with our community. He will be deeply missed.

Prostate Cancer Community HL Pete KastanesMy name is Pete Kastanes. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in December 2019. I had my prostate surgically removed in April 2020. I had radiation done in August 2021 and will start chemotherapy very soon because of a recurrence of my cancer. I have a social media account called Vanished Chicagoland that I started in May 2012. I am hopeful that the chemotherapy will kill the lesions. I am so blessed to be alive after all I have been through. You can follow my journey at @VanishedChicagoland.
