Cancer Treatment Centers - high risk prostate cancer
Hello - my BIL (61) had his first PSA done a couple of months ago with a 7.1 result. MRI and biopsies showed Gleason 9 with PNI and swollen pelvic lymph node. PSMA CT scheduled for next week. Urologic oncologist said very bad cancer. Can anyone recommend a treatment center that may be better than your standard local oncology team - MD Anderson? Johns Hopkins? Thanks

. It is great that you are trying to help your brother-in-law find good care. I can't speak to any specific center, but there are National Cancer Institute Designated Cancer Centers. You can find the listing by state here: https://www.cancer.gov/research/infrastructure/cancer-centers/find. I also saw this U.S. News & World Report listing for top places for prostate cancer surgery: https://health.usnews.com/best-hospitals/hospital-ratings/prostate-cancer-surgery. Also, here is a list from Newsweek on best cancer hospitals, which mentions specialties. In addition, a lot of people mention checking out the major university hospital that may be more local and, if possible, ask those with experience what doctors they trust.
