Are optional treatments necessary?

Going on 14 years after first diagnosed with prostatic adenocarcinoma in 2011. 9 biopsies out of 12 malignant. Elevated PSA 6.4 Gleason score 7(4+3). Since then 2 radiation treatments, ADT continues, chemotherapy (dam near killed me)and 3 PSMA PET /CT w/PLY injection. Present day status : 24 Mets (mestaasis malignant prostate cancer on the bone) located on skeleton only (skull, spine, ribs, hip and upper femor). All smaller than a small sweet pea. I am 83 years old with No pain, side effects or urinary problem - PSA 5.24 . On wait and watch protocol recommend by oncology team. I am not sure available treatments would be worth the pain and suffering, will have to wait and see.

  1. Hi . You certainly have been through a lot. The decision on whether to do treatment and what kind is certainly an individual one. I saw you mentioned the Pluvicto injections. Are these what set you up for the break from treatment? Mind if I ask how well you tolerated these and would it be possible to do it again if necessary? Just trying to think of what might be most effective with the least side effects. Hoping the PSA and cancer spots stay stable for a while. Best, Richard (Team Member)
